We are pleased to announce that on 1st of January 2024, advocate Krzysztof Wierzbowski has joined the DT law firm as a senior partner.
Krzysztof Wierzbowski was the founder of Eversheds Sutherland Poland. Recently, he headed the infrastructure practice there. Before Eversheds Sutherland, he was associated with Dickinson Wright, then Baker & McKenzie and PricewaterhouseCoopers.
He is one of the pioneers of business law in Poland. From the early years of the free market he was involved in privatisations and restructurings of Polish companies and pioneering projects for financing large investments. He has advised foreign investors, banks, international financial institutions (EBRD, IFC, USAID, OPIC), Polish-American Enterprise Fund, National Investment Funds and the Ministry of Privatisation.
In 1991, representing Ameritech International, he participated in negotiations and establishing the country’s first cell phone operator, PTK Centertel.
He managed the legal work on the winning offer of Poland and Ukraine for the organisation of UEFA Euro 2012.
Krzysztof represented State Treasury in matters relating to all concession toll roads including in negotiations and renegotiations of PPP contracts for construction and operation of motorways, in day-to-day matters and disputes; he also advised on a DBFO contract for the national system of electronic toll collection and on the rollout of the project.
Besides the road projects, he participated in projects relating to the energy, transmission, municipal, rail, airport, telecommunications and IT infrastructure.
He represented numerous foreign clients investing in a broad spectrum of industries including Du Pont, Gerber, Franke, Tate&Lyle, Brembo, Nokia, Microsoft, Cisco, Facebook, Boeing, Phillips Medisize.
Krzysztof Wierzbowski is an arbitrator at the Court of Arbitration at Polish Confederation Lewiatan (the most influential organisation representing the interests of Polish employers at home and in the EU) and a member of the European Advisory Board of the US-based International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution. For several years, he chaired the Infrastructure Committee of the American Chamber of Commerce in Poland.
